The only freeware RS-1 cab I could find was an LIRR on Trainsim. I edited the alpha channel to remove all the handrail views thru the front window. If you use the LIRR cab, then you may like to use the edited front view ace. It can be found in the options folder. Backup the original then copy the rs1frnt.ace to the cabview folder.

I also changed the viewpoint settings in the RS1.cvf also found in the options folder, again if you use the LIRR cabview then copy the RS1.cvf found in the options folder to the cabview folder - backing up the original first.

I used s4sound.zip Alco S1 sound file.
Download from Train-sim.com and extract s4sound.zip into the Sound directory.

You may have another Alco 244 sound file, if so then you will need to edit the sound lines in the eng. files.

I also used f7hornkt.zip by Jim Edmiston for the single chime versions and the default sounds from s4sound.zip for the multi-chimes,
Backup originals first if desired. The default sound files are aliased to the default GP38 which is a multi-chime horn. Download from Train-sim.com and extract the two wav files from f7hornkt.zip into the Sound directory allowing overwrite and copy the two sms files from the options folder to the Sound folder.

This file should install to a folder called ATSF_RS1

You may wish to install to a temporary folder first.

These RS-1's were used by ATSF as switchers in their passenger train yards and so had steam generators in the short hood. They were setup long hood forward and did not have MU.

Many thanks to the people on Elvas Tower Forums for all the information they freely gave to help make these as accurate as possible.

A very big thanks to Allen Norton for originally building these excellent models and for allowing me to work with them and produce these models.
