ATSF Alco S4 repaint and renumber kit.

Main and FA shape files to model most variations of ATSF units in Zebra Stripe and Bookend paint schemes.

This kit is for Personal Use Only.

All the usual caveats apply:

You may combine, renumber and repaint the models in this kit in any way you want for your own use, it was not designed to be reskinned so results will be unpredictable, and in the comfort of your own home you may spike it, mutiliate it, stamp on it even set fire to it if that floats your boat... you may post screenshots on MSTS Forums providing they are models of ATSF units or secondhand units of ATSF Heritage.

You are not allowed to do anything else with this zip file and that means sell it, redistribute it, upload modified shape files or textures, or anything else that may diminish our ownership or copyright.
You are not permitted to upload or distribute this kit in any way, shape or form anywhere in the world.
This is a renumber and paint kit – it is not a reskin kit.

If you have any issues with the foregoing – then delete this zip file.

If you have or find any problems using this kit, or you need a unit with features unavailable in this kit, then email me to discuss any issues or a custom shape file.

Bleating on a forum saying its broke, when I am more than happy to remediate any errors or work with you for a custom shape file will make us both unhappy...

*** Do Not Reskin this Locomotive --- A Reskin Kit will be available on elvastower.com ***

In the Working Files folder are all the psd textures required for you to edit and 2 pdf files outlining basic construction deatils and repainting instructions.

*

The eng files have been setup for the files listed below, you may of course use different cab and sound files, editing the eng files to refelect your choices.

If you have previous S4 downloads from me, then you may well have all of the following files and do not need them again...

*

Cabview:

Requires sxcab.zip by Dwight Mitchell.

Download from Train-sim.com and extract sxcab.zip into your common.cab/Generic Eng Cabs directory.

In the cabview folder there are 3 ace files that have been edited to remove the handrails. The cab files in the cabview folder have been edited to point to these files.

You do not need to copy any files from the Alco Sx cab folder to the S4 cabview folder.

*

Sound:

Requires Sound Aliasing, Setup and Files for ALS4

Download ALS4_Alias_Files.zip from Elvas Tower and extract to your Common.Snd folder

Requires s4sound.zip Alco S4 sound file.

Download from Train-sim.com and extract s4sound.zip into the Common.Snd/ALS4 folder

Requires f7hornkt.zip by Jim Edmiston

Download and install f7hornkt.zip from Trainsim to the Single-Chime-Horn folder.

Copy both ALS4xxx1.sms files from the Alias folder to the ATSF_S4-Zebra\Sound folder

*

Lights:

The light settings have been set for LightFx. A brighter light ace which can be found on trainsim.com

If you do not use LightFx and do not wish to install it, then the lights may look a bit small.

Simply go into each eng file and double the radius of all the Type ( 0 ) lights.

*

These files were zipped up with folders enabled.

They should install to a folder called ATSF_S4-Zebra

You may also wish to install this to a temporary folder first.

*

ATSF had 38 S4's and were much modified over the years.
