AT&SF 4-6-2 Heavy Pacific #3415
Model by Dick Cowen
Skinned and configured to ATSF specs by Frank Burns
Cabview and sounds included from Dick Cowen's reskinning kit.
In actuality this locomotive served most of it's career in the Midwest, hauling passengers for the most part and finally, freight.
3415 was built in 1919 and one of 50 in the "3400" class acquired by ATSF. It was retired in 1956. The 3400s were designed by John Purcell, who became the ATSF's head of motive power in 1912.
In 1935, 3415 (as were all the 3400's eventually) was rebuilt with some modifications at the Topeka, Ks. shops that resulted in a more efficient and better machine...specs follow, both as delivered and after the mods..
(Thanks to Steamlocomotive.com for these figures)

As you can see, with 79" Drivers, she was a High Steppin' old girl!
Top Speed was on the high side of 90mph....yet it had plenty of pull to handle moderate freights as well.
This locomotive was donated to the City of Abilene, Ks. shortly after retirement and sat in the city park for some 40 years before she arrived on the property of The Abilene and Smokey Valley Railroad around 1998?? She is now Restored and operational with service slated to begin in June 2009!
As with the prototype locomotive, this model uses a Mikado tender, (from ATSF #4000).

Unzip this file to a temp folder, Put the Loco and the Tender folders into your trainset folder and the included "ATSF3415lite" consist file into your consist folder. I reccomend you have an updated PC with MSTS BIN installed to run this locomotive...that way, you can enjoy the great animation and detail this model has to offer.
This reskin is the intellectual property of Myself and Dick Cowen, PLEASE respect that!
