MSTS intermodal flatcar TTCX 91899

THE CAR AND ITS LOADS.
TTCX 91899 and similar cars carry up to three 20' intermodal containers, rectangular (box) or tank (cylindrical). TTCX 91899 is a repaint by L. W. Shell of George Mathews' original model for TTCX 98047. This car is part of a four car set comprised of ATTX 90793, TTCX 91805, TTCX 91899, and TTCX 98047, all prototypical. Each car (and its distinctive freight animation loads) is contained in its own folder.

Each flatcar load is a freight animation file. The freight animation shapes have quite a few variations, as each of three load positions can be a box container with or without roof hatches, or one of two tank shapes. Possible load patterns include Box-Box-Box, Tank1-Tank1-Tank1, Box-Tank1-Tank2, x-Box-x, x-Tank1-x, Tank1-x-Box, and MANY others. When a car has two containers, they are generally in the front and rear position, middle left empty; when a car has a single container, it is generally in the middle position.

You are welcome to swap freight animation loads from one flat car to another. (You will need to copy--not move--the appropriate shape and texture file from one car's folder to the other). But do not expect these loads to fit well on flat cars by other modelers--the AATX and TTCX cars are modeled with intermodal container lugs, and the freight animation loads match these prototype distances.

These models are high-poly, but have been successfully tested on computer setups ranging from pretty hot gaming machines to barely adequate laptops.

CREDITS.
Original model and textures by George Mathews. Texture modifications and wagon file modifications by L. W. Shell. All cars are furnished with Otto and Bill's "BIN-ready cushioned couplers" and have reasonable braking values(although not as realistic as Plainsman's 4.93). Feel free to substitute your own favorite couplers and braking values (but be certain to BACK UP your originals first!)

Some textures may be based on portions of photographs from L. W. Shell's personal collection, or may contain portions of photos, used with permission, by Hans Tobbe or Chris Palmieri. Freelance container textures are by George Mathews and L. W. Shell; photoskin container textures are by L. W. Shell from his personal photo collection. Special thanks to Kyle at MEI Equipment for permission to take photographs. Public domain container door texture by Repairman (repairman@telia.com).
