ÿþBEW NS D9-40CW Version 3

Please read this carefully all the way through before starting to install.

REQUIREMENTS for sound and Cab aliasing: Maple leaf Tracks Cascades Crossing for Cabview, Maple Leaf Tracks NS Engine Pack for sound.

Once you have downloaded and unzipped the zip file you will have a folder named "NS_D940-CW_V3" and inside it will be the folowing files and folders, "NS_D940-CW_9293" "MLT_REQUIRED" plus this file "Install_BEW_NS_D9_V3.txt" also "readme_9293.txt".

***********************************************************************************

First, copy the "MLT_REQUIRED" folder to the "Trains/Trainset" directory in your MSTS installation, say yes to allow it to overwrite the exising files, all it does is add the horn sounds and sms files necesary for this update it does not delete anything, If you do not have the MLT NS Engine pak then DO NOT carry out this step as the sounds will not work and you will have to sort out your own sounds.Bear in mind that the cabview is aliased to the Cascades crossing SP_C44dash9W_8137 engine.

Second, copy the "NS_D940-CW_9293" folder to the "Trains/Trainset" directory in your MSTS installation and create a consist using the MSTS editor or ConBuider whichever one you use then you will be able to use the engine.

***********************************************************************************

Thats it! We hope you will all enjoy the new look which is about as good as you will ever get the BNSF shape file to look in NS guise.

For those more Adventurous of you it is possible to have just one folder with all BEW V3 NS D9-40CW engines in it. Because this time the shape file is included by permission the internal references have been renamed so that nothing will clash if this is done.

Just copy the contents of each of any of engine folders into one named

NS_D9dash40CW

and when prompted allow any overwrites (this will be common files like the crew etc) you should then end up with one folder with all the right files for all the engines. If you do this of course any existing consists will have to be altered to reflect the change as well as any activities using them.
