The NS megapack is needed for the cab audio, but it is not required.

MSTS SD40-2 required for sounds.   http://tsinsider.com/Support/v1Downloads.aspx
Look for DOWNLOAD SD40-2 NOW if you dont have it.

First, extract to a temporary folder.

There are 6 folders

Common.Cab
Default Sounds
KlW Sounds
docs
SOU3239
SOU3278

If you have the NS megapack installed on your computer, then all you have to do is copy SOU3239 and SOU3278 and pasting them into the trainset folder.

If you dont have the megapack, then you first need to copy the .sms files from the Default Sounds folder and paste them into both trains sound folder. Then copy SOU3239+SOU3278+Common.Cab  If it prompts to replace the folders click Yes to all. It will add the needed cabviews for the trains. 

The .sms files to add the cab audio are in the KLW Sonds folder as a backup.
