Made this to learn the basics in TrainSim Modeller. The barrels are free 
and you may use them as you wish for non-commercial purposes.

To install them move the files to the following directories:
s- & sd-files : 'route'/SHAPES
ace-files : 'route'/TEXTURES

Enter the following into your 'route'.ref and the barrels will show as Clutter:

Static (
    Class           ( Clutter )
    Filename        ( Barrel1a.s )
    Align           ( None )
    Description     ( "Wood barrel" )
)
Static (
    Class           ( Clutter )
    Filename        ( Barrel1b.s )
    Align           ( None )
    Description     ( "Oil drum" )
)
Static (
    Class           ( Clutter )
    Filename        ( Barrel2a.s )
    Align           ( None )
    Description     ( "Oil drum small" )
)
Static (
    Class           ( Clutter )
    Filename        ( Barrel2b.s )
    Align           ( None )
    Description     ( "Oil drum" )
)

I've included the painting template. Same template is used for both versions.
If you want more barrels you could copy & rename the s- & sd-files and change 
the ace-file reference inside the s-files.
