Liverpool New York Station

Work began on a railroad between Syracuse and Watertown in 1870. It was finished in 1871 and was called the Syracuse Northern R.R. In 1875 the Rome Watertown and Ogdensburg R.R. ( R W & O R R also called rotten wood and old rusty rails ) purchased the Syracuse Northern and in 1891 the New York Central R.R. took control of the line. The station depicted here was the second station in Liverpool and was built by NYC in the early 1900's. Liverpool station also had an outhouse (NYC_OHF.ZIP) exactly like the one at Parish (PARISH.ZIP) and McConnellville. This station and most of the others were not in use when I took pictures of them in the early 1960's. It was for sale and in good shape at that time but it is now gone.

Although the pictures are B/W, I was foresighted enough to take four views of many stations, freight houses and other RR buildings. Each photo contains a B/W measuring stick in 1 foot increments to enable me to make accurate reproductions.
