File: ROUTES/GM&OSS/Permissions/Treelines.txt

Detailed instructions for use and placement of these tree lines in a route of your choice are contained in the folder TREEDOCS.

The following steps must be carefully followed to place necessary files or information into any route where these tree lines are used before they can be placed using the Route Editor.

----

1. Copy all the files from the TEXTURES folder with the .ACE extension into the TEXTURES folder for the route in which you would like to use these tree lines.

2. Copy all the files from the SHAPES folder with either the .S or .SD extension into the SHAPES folder for the route in which you would like to use these tree lines.

3. After backing up the .REF file for your route, either cut and paste the following text into the route's .REF file , or copy the PVTrees1.ref file and insert it into your route's .REF file.

(Either way you choose, make sure you use an editor, such as Wordpad, which properly handles a Unicode text file)

The textures (.ACE) files were created by myself (Phil Voxland) from original photographs of trees in the vicinity of Ely Minnesota. They are offered for use in the public domain. I would enjoy hearing from anyone who eventually finds them useful in their own route creation, whether for private, non-commercial, or eventual commercial use. The shape and shape definition files are from orginal 3D Canvas models also by Phil Voxland.

I would appreciate an e-mail message from anyone who makes use of these tree lines. Please contact:

  voxland@umn.edu

These models are placed into the public domain by their creator.
